A well-established, entrepreneurial mid-size New York City law firm is seeking an Human Resources Coordinator to join its HR team. Position Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator will support the daily operations of the HR Department, working closely with the HR team to deliver a high level of service to firm employees across all levels.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and office tours
- Manage electronic personnel files and maintain the HR department inbox
- Communicate internal updates including new hires, departures, and status changes
- Track and manage time off for legal support staff; maintain attendance calendar
- Support annual performance review processes including scheduling, note-taking, and compiling feedback
- Coordinate secretarial backup coverage for attorneys
- Plan firm events and lead cultural initiatives
- Assist with recruiting, including resume review, interview scheduling, reference checks, and background checks
- Support the annual Summer Intern Program
- Assist with compliance efforts, reports, and intranet content
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
- Bachelor's degree preferred; HR coursework a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive personnel matters with discretion and professionalism
