We are seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our team. This individual will be responsible for arranging shipments of materials with carriers, weighing trucks, issuing loading papers, verifying correct materials and providing general and specific clerical support to Shipping. The Shipping Clerk reports to the Traffic Supervisor, Sr. Traffic Assistant and Foreman Seamless Shipping. Perform routine clerical duties Accumulates and verifies data used for generation and distribution of various reports using multiple software systems Process inquiries, incoming work requests, reviewing files and records Distribute documents and correspondence Maintain filing systems Generate documentation and data entry Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly Assist other personnel as required Perform other duties as assigned Requirements 12 months of clerical experience Ability to send and receive emails Accurately type 35 wpm Accurately key Numeric Data Entry & Alpha Numeric Data Entry at 5000 kph Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with PowerPoint Qualified candidates will be asked to demonstrate proficiency through testing. Tests to include: Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003, General Typing, Data Entry – Numeric, and Data Entry – Alpha Numeric. Must be able to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions. Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Exposed to extreme cold and heat. Atmospheric conditions may require use of a respirator. Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds and consistently perform repetitive work.
