Field Service Technician

Position Summary

Certified Waste Solutions is a commercial waste equipment solutions company seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to service balers, compactors, and other waste industrial equipment. The primary job functions of this position will be to diagnose, repair, perform maintenance and ensure units are fully operational and exceed customer expectations.

Work Schedule

4-day work week, 10 hr. shifts

Monday-Friday; 1 day off during week

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Use company truck to travel to customer sites to inspect and/ or perform repairs as needed
• Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
• Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, and structural systems as needed.
• Communicates with customers and management on the status of their repairs as often as needed to keep them informed of progress
• Utilizes computer electronics systems (i.e. multimeter, tablet) to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Estimates time and material costs on compactor and baler repairs and requisitions new parts.
• Performs all work in a timely manner
• Performs after hours service calls for emergency breakdowns on a rotating schedule.
• Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Assists other technicians in the completion of project work.
• Keeps truck, equipment, and all tools clean and always organized
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have electrical background and troubleshooting experience
• Hydraulics repair and knowledge a plus
• Welding (MIG) experience preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend schematics
• Prior experience with PLC
• Experience working industrial machines

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work is performed in an outdoor facility with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and dust
• May require prolonged periods of standing
• Requires standing, bending, and lifting materials up to 40 pounds regularly
• Good driving record and ability to haul and back trailers
• Must be willing to work overtime when requested by manager and based on business needs and be willing to be the On-call tech every 4 to 6 weeks
• Should be detail orientedhave strong customer service skills
• Should be able to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to lift-up to 50 lbs.
