Position SummaryCertified Waste Solutions is a commercial waste equipment solutions company seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to service balers, compactors, and other waste industrial equipment. The primary job functions of this position will be to diagnose, repair, perform maintenance and ensure units are fully operational and exceed customer expectations.Work Schedule4-day work week, 10 hr. shiftsMonday-Friday; 1 day off during weekEssential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesUse company truck to travel to customer sites to inspect and/ or perform repairs as neededPerforms repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, and structural systems as needed.Communicates with customers and management on the status of their repairs as often as needed to keep them informed of progressUtilizes computer electronics systems (i.e. multimeter, tablet) to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.Estimates time and material costs on compactor and baler repairs and requisitions new parts.Performs all work in a timely mannerPerforms after hours service calls for emergency breakdowns on a rotating schedule.Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.Assists other technicians in the completion of project work.Keeps truck, equipment, and all tools clean and always organizedMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.QualificationsMust have electrical background and troubleshooting experienceHydraulics repair and knowledge a plusWelding (MIG) experience preferredAbility to read and comprehend schematicsPrior experience with PLCExperience working industrial machinesWork Environment and Physical DemandsWork is performed in an outdoor facility with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and dustMay require prolonged periods of standingRequires standing, bending, and lifting materials up to 40 pounds regularlyGood driving record and ability to haul and back trailersMust be willing to work overtime when requested by manager and based on business needs and be willing to be the On-call tech every 4 to 6 weeksShould be detail oriented & have strong customer service skillsShould be able to work independently with little supervisionAbility to lift-up to 50 lbs.
