Job OverviewWe’re seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to play a key strategic and operational role in advancing our people strategy and shaping Labstat’s collaborative, high-performance culture. This is a remote role based in the United States, with a strong preference for candidates located within driving distance of Kitchener, Ontario, to support regular in-person engagement with site and leadership teams.
This role will support a large majority of employees based in Kitchener, Ontario, while also partnering with leaders and employees across the United States and the Netherlands.
Monthly travel to the Kitchener, Ontario site is required to build relationships, support leaders, and drive key people initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior HR Business Partner, you will report to the Chief People Officer of Certified Group with a dotted line to the President of Labstat. You will serve as a trusted advisor, business partner, and change leader, responsible for:
Building and executing HR strategies aligned with business objectives across Canada, the U.S., and the Netherlands
Serving as the primary HR partner for a workforce predominantly based in Canada, with a strong focus on the Kitchener, Ontario site
Providing hands-on HRBP support in compliance with Canadian employment and labor laws, including Ontario-specific regulations
Advising leaders on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness within the Canadian regulatory framework
Enhancing talent acquisition, compensation, benefits (including pensions), and workforce planning
Leading organizational design, culture, and leadership development initiatives
Supporting leaders through change management, growth, and organizational complexity
Driving continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration
Partnering closely with site leadership to support both hourly and salaried populations

Travel ExpectationsMonthly travel to Kitchener, Ontario is required.
Additional travel may be required periodically based on business needs, leadership meetings, or key initiatives.
7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including senior HR Business Partner roles
Direct experience supporting Canadian employees as an HR Business Partner, with strong working knowledge of Canadian and Ontario employment and labor laws
Experience supporting multi-site and multi-country organizations, including hourly and commercial teams
Strong background in compensation strategy, complex benefits (including pensions), and talent analytics
Proven ability to operate effectively in high-growth, change-driven environments; experience with union avoidance strategies preferred
Strong business acumen with a consultative, coaching-oriented leadership style
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
