Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to join our manufacturing organization serving highly regulated industries, including aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, and energy sectors. This role is responsible for inspecting and testing products throughout various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality, reliability, and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will have strong metrology and inspection experience, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in a precision manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and Faro Arm equipment.
- Conduct mechanical inspections utilizing Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and CMM software.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation to verify product conformance.
- Select and inspect products at designated stages of the manufacturing process to evaluate dimensional, mechanical, electrical, and chemical characteristics.
- Record inspection and test results while applying statistical quality control methods.
- Analyze inspection data and prepare reports identifying compliance or deviations from established standards.
- Generate Certificates of Conformance and other quality documentation as required.
- Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on materials, components, and finished products.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and management teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree from an accredited technical school or college preferred; or
- Minimum of three years of related quality inspection experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with metrology and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Mechanical and process inspection experience.
- Experience conducting internal and external quality audits.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.'
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience maintaining inspection records and quality documentation.
- Faro Arm operation experience required.
- CMM operation and programming experience preferred.
- Experience with JobBOSS and Unipoint software is a plus.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, trigonometry, and statistical analysis in a manufacturing environment.
