Apartment Maintenance Technician – EPA Universal Required

About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join a multifamily community. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience maintaining apartment communities and is comfortable handling a variety of maintenance requests, preventative maintenance, and resident work orders.
EPA Universal Certification is required. We are looking for someone dependable, hands-on, and able to work independently while providing excellent service to residents and the onsite management team.
Responsibilities
- Complete apartment maintenance and service requests in a timely manner
- Perform preventative maintenance throughout the community
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems
- Perform basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including toilets, faucets, sinks, drains, and leaks
- Complete basic appliance repairs and replacements
- Perform drywall, painting, caulking, flooring, and general apartment turns
- Assist with unit make-readies and preparing apartments for new residents
- Respond to maintenance emergencies when needed
- Maintain common areas, amenities, and community grounds as needed
- Document completed work orders and communicate repair needs to management
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all community safety procedures and company policies
- Provide professional and courteous service to residents
Requirements
- Prior apartment/multifamily maintenance experience is required
- EPA Universal Certification is required
- Strong understanding of general apartment maintenance
- Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Basic plumbing knowledge and repair skills
- HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience
- Experience with apartment turns/make-readies preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to work an on-call rotation when needed
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance duties
- Must be able to communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, and management
- Must be willing to complete a background check and drug screening
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, dependable Maintenance Technician who understands the pace and responsibilities of working in a multifamily community. You should be comfortable walking into an apartment, diagnosing the issue, determining the appropriate repair, and completing the work safely and efficiently.
Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, preventative maintenance, and apartment turns is highly valued.
