Sr. Application Rationalization Consultant

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Application Rationalization Consultant who excels at working with executive stakeholders to drive strategic IT transformation. This role is responsible for assessing and optimizing client’s application portfolio, aligning technology assets with business goals, and influencing C-suite decisions through data-driven insights and executive-ready communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide application rationalization initiatives, focusing on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and business alignment
• Partner directly with executive leadership (CIO, CFO, COO, etc.) to understand strategic priorities and translate them into actionable IT roadmaps
• Conduct application assessments, including business value, technical fit, cost, and risk scoring
• Develop and present rationalization strategies, business cases, and executive dashboards
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops and governance forums to drive consensus and decision-making
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, IT operations, and business units to ensure successful execution of rationalization plans
  
  

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, or application portfolio management
• Proven success leading rationalization efforts in large, complex organizations
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Expertise in APM tools (e.g., ServiceNow APM, LeanIX, Apptio) and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL)
• Familiarity with cloud migration strategies and modern application architectures
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare preferred)
• Knowledge of business capability modeling and value stream mapping
