Are you a hands-on technologist who can turn automation ideas into reality? We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just assist or troubleshoot but designs, builds, and implements custom automation solutions that directly impact production efficiency and innovation in injection molding.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, building, and implementing end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and custom automation solutions from concept through production
- Programming and integrating robots and PLCs, including PLC-to-robot communication, to support new tooling and production processes
- Supporting process improvements with mechanical and automation upgrades, including custom builds
- Training production teams on new systems, tooling, and workflows
- Troubleshooting automation, robotics, vision systems, and auxiliary equipment as needed to bring ideas to life
- Collaborating closely with process engineering, tooling, and operations teams
Technical Skills & Experience That Translate Well
- Hands-on experience with robot programming and integration (Fanuc, Denso, Universal, Wittmann, or similar)
- PLC programming and troubleshooting, including PLC-to-robot communication (Mitsubishi, Omron, or similar)
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to design and fabricate solutions independently
- Solid understanding of injection molding machines, peripherals, and automation interfaces
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar) for EOAT and mechanical design
- Shop fabrication skills: chop saws, band saws, drill presses, Bridgeports; CNC machining a plus
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
