Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and equipment.
- Service air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, rooftop units, mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant-related issues.
- Test electrical components, motors, capacitors, contactors, relays, controls, and thermostats.
- Check refrigerant pressures, temperatures, airflow, and overall system performance.
- Identify equipment failures and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement options.
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable Connecticut codes.
- Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and system conditions clearly to customers.
- Complete service tickets, job notes, equipment information, and other required documentation accurately.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, parts, and service vehicle.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Participate in an on-call or after-hours rotation as required.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
- Current Connecticut D-2 or S-2 HVAC license required.
- Must be a licensed HVAC professional in the State of Connecticut.
- 3 years of HVAC service and repair experience preferred.
- EPA Section 608 Certification required.
- Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, airflow, and HVAC controls.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, or similar field service software preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other confined or elevated areas.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and HVAC diagnostic equipment.
- Residential and light commercial HVAC service experience.
- Heat pump and traditional split-system experience.
- Experience diagnosing complex HVAC electrical and mechanical issues.
- Experience providing customers with repair and replacement recommendations.
