Packout - Bulk Item Packer

Century Linen & Uniform is seeking detail orientated bulk item packers. 

Location: 125 Balzano Dr. Johnstown, NY 12095

Shift: 2nd 2:30pm-11pm M-F (OT Avail on Sat.)  

Payrate: $17.00/hr. 

Job Summary:

Packout Workers - Bulk Item Packers are responsible for preparing carts with bulk Items for shipment to customer locations. Packout staff work with our manifest team, each member taking roles such as manually packing carts, ensuring quantities of items are correct, bundling items and ensuring bulk carts meet our standard for presentation, clean product and proper order fulfillment. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will work within a team of people performing similar duties. Along with one or more team members, a Packout Worker may perform some or all of the following duties during a given shift:

• Check packing orders.
• Line carts with plastic.
• Operate on a conveyer line system 
• Retrieve cleaned/dried linens which have been bundled and load them into carts.
• Weigh carts and enter weight into a computer.
• Stage Carts for Manifest.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Reading and writing comprehension, computer and math skills typically associated with a high school level education.
• Quality orientation and high attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
• Strong teamwork skills- ready and willingness to work closely with team members.
• Open to and able to work day or night shifts, and willing to rotate shifts depending on production needs.
• Open to long hours and working weekends (Sat/Sun)
• Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more and stooping.
• Physical Demands consist of the ability to move rolling carts of varying weights – up to and exceeding approximately 250lbs.
• Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Prior experience working in a plant environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

• Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.
• The position requires constant standing, bending, stooping, walking and the ability to lift and handle material with weights up to 50 lbs. or more.
• Constant pushing/pulling laundry carts.

Work Environment:

Production areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, noise, odors, humidity, lint, dust, chemicals and other hazards.
