 Warehouse Associate Job Description

The role of Warehouse Associate is vital in supporting our mission and achieving our goals. In this position, you will be tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse through a variety of functions, which may include shipping, receiving, and transferring of products to customers and other locations. Your efforts will guarantee that our customers receive the correct items in the appropriate quantities and at the right time, thereby helping to maintain comfort for members of our community in their homes and workplaces. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work well in a team-oriented environment
• Focus on safety first and ensuring the well-being of yourself and other employees, and the overall operations.
• Loading and unloading merchandise using the necessary equipment and tools
• Picking and preparing orders for shipment or customer pickup
• Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, including loading docks
• Completing the required documentation to track and ship merchandise in accordance with company procedures and vendor instructions
• Preparing reports as requested by management
• Conducting cycle counts and participating in annual inventory
• Communicating with warehouse management regarding inventory issues, including discrepancies, damages, and non-stock items
• Assisting inside sales representatives and/or drivers as needed
• Being capable of lifting and maneuvering up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
• Engaging in continuous walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and carrying tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Warehouse experience a plus but NOT required.
• Always maintaining safety awareness.
• The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize daily task.
• Must have basic computer skills for inventory management.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, division, multiplication and subtraction).
• Proficiency in comprehending guidelines.
• Maintain inventory control: Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies.
• Pick and fill orders from stock: Accurately pick items according to order specifications.
• Pack and ship orders from stock: Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
• Must have prior experience operating a forklift pallet jack, hand truck and other warehouse equipment.
