- Maintain complete and accurate payroll records supported by proper documentation.
- Review employee time records each pay period and resolve missing or incorrect entries before processing.
- Set up and audit payroll deductions such as direct deposits, garnishments, benefits, and retirement contributions.
- Process payroll data, verify results, and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Prepare payroll reports, handle payroll tax payments, and respond to employee and third-party payroll inquiries.
- Proficiency using a payroll and HRIS system to manage payroll processing and reporting tasks.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements at the federal, state, and local level.
- Ability to manage multiple payroll deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills used to research and resolve payroll issues.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
- Previous experience administering payroll in a complex or multi-employee environment.
- Advanced proficiency with office productivity tools, especially spreadsheets and presentations.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly with employees, managers, and external partners.
