Cost Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $70,000 to $75,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory activity, and operational performance to support accurate financial reporting and profitability management.
• Prepare cost analyses, variance reports, and financial summaries that provide insight into production and business performance.
• Support month end, quarter end, and year end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Partner with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to improve data accuracy and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives that support operational goals.
  
  

Requirements

• A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 1 year(s) of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost analysis, financial reporting, and variance analysis principles.
• Possess advanced Excel skills and experience working with enterprise resource planning systems.
• Maintain the ability to analyze financial and operational data while supporting multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail when reviewing inventory records, reconciliations, and financial data.
• Communicate effectively with accounting, operations, production, and leadership teams.
• Maintain strong organizational skills while managing reporting requirements, projects, and month end activities.
