Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Dishwasher / Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and service areas. This role supports kitchen operations by washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and ensuring a safe, organized, and hygienic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashing machines or by hand
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including floors, workstations, storage rooms, and waste areas
- Clean and properly store kitchen equipment and supplies
- Assist with basic kitchen prep when needed (e.g., trash removal, organizing supplies)
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of garbage and recycling
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Restock clean items and supplies as needed
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management
- Support kitchen staff during peak service hours
