Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for providing the highest quality of beverage production and service to our Members and guests. In addition to supporting all Club venues, events and fellow Employee Partners in delivering quality beverages and service, the Bartender maintains the bar, bar service areas and related storerooms in a neat, organized and secure manner. The Bartender follows the proper procedures for stocking, cleaning and ensuring opening/closing duties are performed to ensure bar readiness at all times. Responsible to prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members and guests in a professional and pleasant manner.
This is a part-time seasonal position, running through December. Opportunities to return in March may be available.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Previous bartending experience required.
- A working knowledge of bar related beverages, spirits, wine and beer.
- A working knowledge of the most common cocktails, mixed drinks and specialty drinks.
- Alcohol Server Certification

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mix, prepare, and serve drinks according to recipes approved by the Beverage Manager.
- Issue checks for drinks served via electronic input system.
- Maintain daily inventory of liquors, beers, wines and tobacco, including tracking drinks and liquors in greatest demand to ensure stock maintenance, stocking additional supplies as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in bar area including cleaning equipment and keeping glasses polished. Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
- Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items…etc.
- Handle the table bookings, direct customers to their tables, presenting menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the cooks.
- Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
- Prepare mixed drinks for service to your customers table.
- Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
- Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Filling in for absent staff as needed.
- Assisting with special events as needed.
- Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Understands and can communicate products and services available at the Golf Course or resort.
- Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
- Lift 20 lbs. over head.
- Be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
- Be able to use a point of sale system, computer, calculator, credit card machine.
- High customer volume at times
