What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leadperson position at Century Furniture?
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for leading a team of employees in the finishing department of high-end furniture.
Responsible for all associates in assigned areas. Must schedule and delegate work load among employees daily. Assist on the line when needed in daily operations. Knowledge in all aspects of area. Ensure quality for all cases in all areas of operation. Must be able to fill-in a leadership role when the Supervisor is absent. Must be able to communicate with all levels of personnel.
Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor such as:
Loading the line by pulling material from Whitewood Storage are to conveyor and loading in assigned order.
Occasionally screwing down tall cases and bed frames to pallets.
Observes plant safety rules. Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties.
Essential Duties:
Must have the ability to relate well with others, to be a team player with the ability to lead.
Qualifications:Position Requirements:
- Must have experience with leading or directing the work of others.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and work with multiple managers.
- Able to work in a high paced environment and be self-motivated.
- Must be able to use a computer to look up orders.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; 100 lbs. with assistance
