What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deluxing position at Century Furniture?
Position Summary:
The primary duty of this position is to inspect and deluxe all product before its shipped.
Position Details:
- Place furniture on lift, checking the ticket for proper information and instructions
- Remove all loose strings
- Use air hose to blow off any cotton fragments
- Clean soiled areas using proper cleaner to remove any marks
- Check for bad stitching or seams, flaws in fabrics or scars in leather, or too small/large welt
- Check for proper cushion fit and proper fabric match
- Check general tailoring
- Steam out wrinkles where needed and remove any staples from skirt
- Place deck labels and proper hang tag in each piece
- Check for law labels, proper bolsters, back pillows, and extra bolsters (if ordered).
- Check for missing glides
- Check for proper finish and correct bunn feet for each style
- Distinguish between colors for dye lot problems
- Must use quality requirements when cleaning a piece of furniture. Use tape to mark any defect in the piece that would not meet requirements
- Write up necessary repair cards
- Sit in all pieces to check for noise, sitting problems, or proper motion operation
- Keep work area clean
- Keep safely any company owned tools and equipment, and report any problems with tools or equipment to the Supervisor
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.
- Wear proper protective equipment; work safely and report any unsafe conditions or practices to your Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience as a Deluxer is a plus
- Must be able to prioritize duties by date and pay attention to detail
