Century Construction is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Residential / Light Commercial Carpenter to join our growing team. Position Summary
The Carpenter will perform a wide range of residential and light commercial construction tasks, including new construction, remodeling, renovations, and finish work. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes pride in quality workmanship and can work independently as well as with a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential and light commercial framing, finish carpentry, and remodeling work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Install doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, siding, flooring, and other finish materials.
- Complete demolition, layout, framing, and structural repairs as needed.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and applicable building codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and team members.
- Assist with other construction tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of residential carpentry experience (light commercial experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building practices.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
- Experience with framing, finish carpentry, and remodeling.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating construction equipment.
- OSHA certification (preferred but not required).
- Ability to perform multiple trades such as drywall, painting, or flooring is a plus.
