Position Summary:

As the Vice President of Construction you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a pivotal role in leading and managing a team of construction staff, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver high quality and high value commercial and multifamily developments. This position reports directly to the President and requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction management, leadership, and strategic planning.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement construction strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost efficiencies, and innovative construction techniques.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define project priorities and resource allocation.


Project Management:

  • Oversee the entire construction process from pre-construction through project closeout.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines to ensure successful project completion.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and quality standards.


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing construction team.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project managers, superintendents, and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.


Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts, scopes of work, and pricing agreements to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Resolve conflicts and disputes in a timely and effective manner to ensure project continuity.


Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Implement robust safety protocols and procedures to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Proactively identify and address potential construction-related risks and liabilities.


Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and key metrics effectively and transparently.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and project reviews to ensure alignment and accountability.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 20 years of experience in multifamily construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera, Bluebeam).
  • Thorough understanding of construction best practices, building codes, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.

Salary : $300,000 - $345,000
