About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to manage a $2 million ground-up commercial project in Boston, MA, with a focus on structural steel construction. The Lead Superintendent will oversee all on-site operations, ensure project schedules and budgets are met, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.
This is a key leadership role requiring hands-on supervision, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple trades on a fast-paced jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of on-site construction from groundbreaking through completion.
- Lead and coordinate subcontractors, field staff, and vendors.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using tools such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
- Conduct daily site meetings and ensure work progresses according to plan.
- Enforce jobsite safety and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Review and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure quality control throughout the project.
- Communicate effectively with the project manager, architects, engineers, and clients.
- Track daily reports, manpower, and progress documentation.
- Resolve on-site issues promptly and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 10 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as a Superintendent.
- Proven experience managing ground-up commercial projects (structural steel experience required).
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and steel erection processes.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
- OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts building codes and local permitting processes.
- Valid driverβs license and ability to commute daily to Boston.
