We are currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse Charge Nurse to join our team at Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison (GDCP) in Jackson, Georgia.
This role is ideal for an experienced RN who enjoys leadership, structured clinical environments, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Schedule
Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 12-hour shifts | Rotating weekends
Compensation
Base Rate: $46.00 – $51.00 per hour
Night Shift Differential: $3.00 per hour
Weekend Differential: $1.00 per hour
Night Shift Differential: $3.00 per hour
Weekend Differential: $1.00 per hour
Potential Night Shift Earnings:
Approximately $49.00 – $55.00 per hour

Position Overview
The RN Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff during the assigned shift while delivering high-quality patient care within a correctional healthcare environment.
This position works closely with the Director of Nursing, medical providers, mental health staff, and correctional leadership to ensure safe, effective healthcare services are provided to patients.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and support personnel during assigned shift
- Provide direct and indirect patient care
- Conduct patient assessments and respond to sick call and medical emergencies
- Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders
- Ensure proper documentation within the electronic health record
- Collaborate with medical, mental health, and custody staff
- Maintain compliance with clinical policies and correctional healthcare standards
- Assist in training and supporting new nursing staff
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 4 years RN experience required
- Charge nurse, ER, corrections, psych, or med-surg experience preferred
- Strong leadership, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a structured healthcare environment
