Job Summary:

The Director of Cardiac Care Med Surg provides strategic and operational leadership for the planning, management, implementation, and coordination of all departmental activities in alignment with hospital goals. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care and supporting excellence in nursing practice, leadership, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Cardiac Care Med Surg unit to ensure operational excellence, patient safety, and clinical quality.
• Develop and implement systems that promote a seamless patient flow throughout the continuum of care.
• Drive department performance improvement initiatives and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Facilitate and coordinate comprehensive education programs for staff and patients.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, procedures, and services to advance patient care.
• Lead research projects under Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversight.
• Direct the development of short- and long-term operational goals and project plans to meet facility objectives.
• Manage staffing functions, including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards, including EEO and Affirmative Action practices.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and disciplinary actions as necessary to promote team performance and accountability.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (or BCLS Instructor) required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of recent acute care RN leadership experience (within the Last year).
