Job Summary:
The Transfer Room Loader is responsible for transferring stacks of eggs from pallets onto a conveyor belt of loading equipment. Employee will need to be able to handle 50 pounds repetitively and keep up with machine and department demands. Employee will be responsible for the washing of plastic egg flats and palletizing materials, as well as preparing these materials for shipment. The loading of materials onto trucks is also a function of this position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Properly and efficiently loading of shell egg product onto loader conveyor.
- Keep loader filled at all times and be able to keep up with line speeds.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot loader equipment
- Immediately report any mechanical problems or poor quality conditions to the Plant Leads, Supervisors, or maintenance staff.
- Assist with morning set up, midday cleanings, and end of day procedures
- Operation of pallet jacks. Including performing pre-op, cleaning, and charging.
- Washing flats and plastic materials in a timely manner to keep up with daily quotas.
- Ensure that material is being cleaned properly to meet quality standards
- Tagging of clean material and preparing material for return shipment.
- Baling/compacting of disposable materials.
- Transporting of materials to cooler. Keeping customer materials separate and preparing them for shipment
- Removing damaged material from the system.
- Crosstrain and have the ability to be flexible to perform the following positions within the processing plant.
- Candling
- Comply with all USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity Policies, Plant Procedures, HACCAP and Food Defense Programs.
- Effectively communicate with the plant leads, supervisors, managers, QC, USDA and plant staff.
- Assist in creating a One-Team environment .
- Value your safety and the safety of your co-workers by following safety rules and policies.
- Perform all other tasks as requested by management. Help train other team members as needed.
- Help other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Agile – able to twist and bend and lift above head, able to lift 50lbs repetitively
- Operate pallet jack, stacker, and other material handling equipment
- Good Communication (Written / Verbal) skills, organized, goal oriented, accountable.
- Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in high stress environment.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments, walking, and standing for long periods of time.
- Work in a face paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual – Spanish and English.
- Prior egg processing experience.
