Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of incoming materials and finished egg products. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, contributing to the organization's goal of being a premier egg producer. The technician will perform inspections, monitor quality, and support food safety programs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct product sensory evaluations, weight, count, and defect checks.
- Monitor quality of incoming and outgoing products per specifications.
- Record and report HACCP points (CCP/CP'S).
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, company policies, and food safety programs.
- Verify sanitizer concentrations and conduct pre-operational inspections.
- Perform equipment calibrations and basic laboratory testing.
- Maintain and inventory laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Report quality deviations to Quality Management.
- Foster a positive work environment and uphold the company's Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma/GED; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Experience: 2 years in food safety and quality assurance in food manufacturing preferred.
- Skills: Ability to work independently, basic computer skills (e-mail, Microsoft Office).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge in food processing/HACCP/SQF and regulatory compliance.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule for vacations and peak periods.
Work Environment:
The position requires regular sitting, use of hands, talking, or hearing, with occasional standing, walking, and reaching. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
