What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Events Coodinator position at Centro Asturiano de Tampa?

The Centro Asturiano de Tampa is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized Marketing and Events Specialist to support the planning, coordination, and promotion of events at our historic venue. This role works closely with the Director of Sales and Community Relations to ensure smooth event execution and strong community engagement through marketing and outreach efforts.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

– Assist with all aspects of event planning and coordination

– Serve as on-site contact for assigned events, ensuring smooth execution

– Provide administrative support to the Director of Sales and Community Relations

– Help prepare marketing templates, graphics, and promotional materials

– Support the management and growth of Centro Asturiano’s social media platforms

– Conduct research on potential clients, leads, and event trends

– Participate in venue tours and client consultations

– Help develop pre- and post-event checklists

– Stay up to date on event planning standards and trends

– Assist with general building maintenance coordination as needed


Required Skills and Qualifications:

– Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

– Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

– Calm, courteous, and resourceful approach to problem-solving

– Strong written communication and graphic design skills

– Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

– Experience managing social media accounts and maintaining web presence

– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and design tools

– Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred


Education and Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Event Planning, or related field required

– Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, event coordination, or related field


Physical Requirements:

– Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

– Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed for events

– Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
