Role Overview
We are seeking a Construction Project Manager with proven experience in K-12 or public sector construction to oversee scope, schedule, and budget from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will work closely with design teams, site superintendents, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and alignment with project goals. This position requires exceptional communication, leadership, and project coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from contract to closeout
· Manage project lifecycle: preconstruction planning, procurement, construction, and final turnover
· Collaborate with Site Superintendents to ensure on-site activities align with project goals and safety standards
· Monitor project budgets, forecasts, billing, and collections
· Maintain detailed documentation including meeting minutes, RFIs, change orders, and progress updates
· Lead coordination efforts with architects, engineers, vendors, and school district officials
· Track project milestones and proactively address schedule or cost impacts
· Support development and mentorship of junior staff
· Champion quality assurance and risk management practices
· Participate in client presentations, interviews, and marketing pursuits when needed
Qualifications
· Experience: 5–10 years in project management within construction; K-12 or public sector experience strongly preferred
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
· Certifications: PMP and OSHA 30 preferred
· Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
· Tech: Proficient in Microsoft Office; Autodesk/Procore or similar construction management software experience preferred
· Travel: Able to travel up to 50% for job site visits and client meetings
· Requirements: Must pass background checks for school construction compliance
