POSITION PURPOSE:
The Community Engagement Specialist serves as the primary ambassador for Centricity Credit Union’s community presence, playing a pivotal strategic role in building, managing, and deepening the relationships that define our mission in action. This position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding partnerships with members, staff, the communities we serve, nonprofit organizations, civic groups, school districts, local businesses, and government entities translating Centricity’s cooperative values into tangible, measurable community impact. The Specialist drives a robust portfolio of community programming, event strategy, financial education outreach, and external sponsorships, all in close alignment with the Credit Union’s brand identity, member growth objectives, and community impact strategy. The Community Engagement Specialist will also be responsible for Centricity Credit Union's signature events, member events, employee engagement events, and community-facing events. Equally important is the Specialist’s role as an internal connector: this position bridges Marketing, Lending, Branch Operations, Member Experience, and Human Resources with the broader external community ecosystem, ensuring that Centricity’s community engagement efforts are cohesive, cross-functional, and deeply integrated into the organization’s strategic plan. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Partnerships & Outreach
Develop, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, businesses, and community groups that align with Centricity Credit Union’s mission and community impact goals.
Negotiate, execute, and steward sponsorships and partnership agreements, ensuring all commitments, deliverables, and benefits are fulfilled and tracked.
Represent Centricity Credit Union at community boards, committees, events, coalitions, and public forums to promote financial empowerment, economic inclusion, and cooperative values.
Collaborate with internal business lines to connect community outreach participants with relevant products, services, and resources that support financial well-being and membership growth.
Community Events & Financial Education
Plan, coordinate, and execute a comprehensive calendar of community outreach initiatives, financial education programs, sponsorship activations, charitable events, workshops, and member engagement activities.
Manage all aspects of event execution, including budgeting, venue and vendor coordination, logistics, staffing, marketing support, registration, and post-event evaluation.
Develop and deliver financial education programs tailored to the needs of diverse audiences, including youth, seniors, underserved populations, immigrants, and small business owners.
Coordinate cross-functional participation to ensure branch staff, lending teams, and leadership are engaged and informed in support of outreach and community events.
Brand Representation & Communications
Serve as a professional ambassador for Centricity Credit Union, representing the organization at community events, partnership meetings, media opportunities, and public engagements.
Create and distribute communications related to community initiatives, including press releases, sponsorship proposals, partner correspondence, award nominations, and impact stories.
Partner with Marketing and Social Media teams to provide content, photography, video, and event information that supports community engagement and brand awareness efforts.
Program Management, Reporting & Administration
Track, analyze, and report on community engagement activities, partnership outcomes, financial education reach, event effectiveness, and return on investment using established performance metrics.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for leadership and the Board, translating data into meaningful insights that demonstrate community impact and strategic alignment.
Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets for community programming, events, and sponsorship investments.
Maintain accurate and organized records of partnership agreements, sponsorships, contracts, event documentation, expenditures, and community impact data in compliance with organizational policies and records management requirements.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

Good working relationships exist with Credit Union personnel and management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Social Work, Community Development, or a closely related field preferred.
An equivalent combination of relevant education and demonstrated progressive experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in community relations, partnership development, nonprofit management, event planning, public affairs, or a closely related discipline preferred.
Experience working within a financial institution, credit union, non-profit, or other mission- driven organization strongly preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and leverage professional relationships with diverse and multi-sector stakeholders.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, formal presentations, and professional correspondence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); working knowledge of CRM platforms, event management software, and social media management tools.
Familiarity with credit union or banking products, services, and the regulatory environment is a plus.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred; not required.
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable personal transportation required for travel to community events and partner locations.
Availability and willingness to attend evening and weekend events as needed.
Must successfully pass a background check and credit review in accordance with Centricity Credit Union’s employment policies and NCUA regulatory requirements.

Frequent local travel is required to attend meetings, community events, workshops, sponsorship activities, and partnership engagements.
