Residential Child Care Worker, Residential Youth Advocate

At YSB, we work hard to make kids matter every day! We are a non-profit organization that has Residential, Family, and Community Based programs for children and families.

We are searching for a part-time, casual Residential Child Care Worker/Youth Advocate to work in our Residential programs (Stormbreak Girls Group Home, Burrowes Street Youth Haven, Independent Living program).

• Hours and shifts will vary. There will be an initial training period, and then intermittent shifts will be offered based upon program needs.

Responsibilities

• Care for and supervise youth, ensure safety, mediate conflicts, provide meals, administer medication as needed, and transport youth to appointments and/or school as necessary
• Provide assistance to program residents to improve or enhance skills in areas such as anger management, problem solving, decision-making, time management, strengthening peer relations, increasing employ ability, and goal setting and achievement
• Assisting in individual, family, or group counseling
• Participating in recreational activities

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Practical experience with youth, or significant related coursework
• Ability to work evenings and weekends, and overnight awake hours

Salary

$15-18/hr BOE
