What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Elections Worker position at Centre County, Pennsylvania?
- Educates and informs voters of the vote-by-mail and election process as necessary by answering phone inquiries.
- Maintains non-partisan demeanor.
- Updates and maintains files and records of all voters.
- Processes paper and online applications for vote-by-mail ballots into the Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors (SURE) system – Pennsylvania’s statewide voter database.
- Assists with the organization of the vote-by-mail ballot applications.
- Assists with the packaging of unvoted ballots with related election materials and instructions.
- Assists with the receiving and organizing of voted inbound vote-by-mail ballots.
- Audits of blank ballots during pre-business hours and post-business hours at Elections Office or satellite county elections office.
- Assists the Return Board and Election Board with any ballot processing activities.
- Participates in Risk Limiting Audits. Operates computer, scanner, printer, and other office equipment as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Plus two (2) years business school preferred. Required Work Experience: Three (3) years working experience in a professional office environment with public service background preferred. Data input experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
