Role Description This full-time, on-site Accountant role is based in Rockaway, NJ. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring budgets and cost allocations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in general accounting principles, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and project-based accounting, preferably in construction, engineering, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in Rockaway, NJ, and maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial data and company records.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Prior experience as an Accountant or in a similar role; familiarity with HVAC, construction, or engineering sector accounting is beneficial.
