Status: full-time, non-represented, exempt
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Performs professional project management work in the planning, design, bidding, construction, and closeout of public works capital improvement projects, including streets, water, stormwater, wastewater, and related infrastructure. Serves as the primary project manager for assigned City projects, ensuring compliance with applicable funding sources, regulations, and City standards. Also coordinates the review and approval process for private development projects to ensure conformance with City engineering requirements and facilitates pre-construction and permitting activities.
This classification description reflects the general concept and intent of the classification and should not be construed as a detailed statement of all the work requirements that may be inherent in a position.

- Five years of increasingly responsible project management experience on public works projects is required. Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Project Management Certification is preferred for applicants without a college degree.
- Experience managing local agency public works projects with state or federal funding preferred.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license is required with acceptable driving record.
- Vacation and Sick leave accruals, 12 paid Holidays which includes one (1) floating holiday
- Up to two (2) weeks executive leave annually
