POSITION ASSIGNMENT
EMS Program Lab Assistant (Part Time - see estimated course schedule below)
POSITION SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVES
The EMS Lab Assistant supports the delivery of EMS educational programs by providing instructional assistance, technical expertise, and hands-on guidance during skills training and laboratory sessions. Working closely with the lead instructor, the Lab Assistant functions as a secondary educator—helping students learn, practice, and review essential EMS skills in both simulated and practical environments. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining lab equipment, assisting with demonstrations, monitoring student performance, reinforcing key concepts, and providing constructive feedback to promote skill competency and confidence. The Lab Assistant also contributes to maintaining a safe and effective learning environment and may assist with curriculum activities as directed by instructional staff.
Each training will require 1 Lead Instructor and up to 3 Lab Assistants, depending on enrollment levels and student-to-assistant ratios.
ESTIMATED COURSE SCHEDULE
CVCCSD will coordinate and deliver the following, per year:
Two EMT Training courses (Spring & Fall, each 180 hours)
One AEMT Training (250 hours)
Four VEFR Training modules (quarterly, hybrid, 8 hours each in person)
One EMT Recertification (20 in-person hours, hybrid)
One AEMT Recertification (25 in-person hours, hybrid)
One Paramedic Recertification (30 in-person hours, hybrid)
Two Skills Verification Workshop (6-8 in-person hours)
Optional Paramedic Training (pending post-secondary partner coordination)
Each training will require 1 Lead Instructor and up to 3 Lab Assistants, depending on enrollment levels and student-to-assistant ratios.
PAY
$30 per hour
