Job Overview
In today's dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment, the ability to foresee and strategically manage risks is not only valuable but essential for the sustained success of any organization. A Risk Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in identifying potential threats, evaluating risks, and developing strategies to mitigate adverse impacts on company operations. The Risk Management Specialist reports to the Director of Risk Management.
Risk Management Specialist Responsibilities & Duties

Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the organization

Conduct assessments and develop risk mitigation plans

Monitor and analyze risk trends and report findings to senior management

Coordinate with various departments to implement risk management strategies

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
-
Develop and maintain security and risk management policies and procedures
-
Provide training and support to staff on security and risk-related issues
-
Evaluate the effectiveness of current security risk management practices
-
Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders

Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
-
Other job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Qualifications
Risk Management Specialist Qualifications & Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements

Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy

Experience in conducting assessments and developing mitigation strategies

Minimum of 3 years of experience in security, risk management, or a related discipline

Proficient in data analysis

Ability to develop and implement effective policies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends and regulations

Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects

Strong decision-making and critical-thinking skills

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Any combination of training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.

Three (3) years of experience in the coordination of risk management programs,
Physical Abilities

Persons performing service in this position classification will expect to lift 10 to 30 pounds of force frequently, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects and equipment.

This type of work primarily involves sitting, standing, lifting and moving most of the time, but may involve walking and standing for prolonged periods.

Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate technical/business related equipment, and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
