What You’ll Do:
- Lead and settle rail transactions, including settlements, billing, freight payments, incentives, demurrage, contract washes/underfills, and inspection fees.
- Track earned and unearned rail incentives by location and communicate results to divisional leaders.
- Account for all rail freight trades and update corresponding rail freight positions as needed.
- Support month-end payables/receivables and prepare rail journal vouchers.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to ensure timely collections and payments.
- Identify and report imbalances, manage accounts payable/receivable, and handle prior period adjustments.
- Execute special projects as assigned by your supervisor.
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or 2–4 years of related experience.
- Strong fundamental accounting skills: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through with commitments.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with a methodical approach to work.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to build effective relationships internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated integrity, ethical standards, and a commitment to safety.
