Position Title Adjunct Faculty-Building Trades FLSA Exempt Full Time/Part Time Part Time Department Industrial Technology Campus South Service Area Campus Location Central Campus Salary Per PTEA Hours Part-time, include requirement and total hours per week - as needed not to exceed 19.5 hours per week Summary of Position
The ideal candidate must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be capable of safely operating a college-owned pickup truck while towing a 24-foot trailer to provide mobile class delivery across various service area locations.
Applicants must have practical experience in the Residential and Light Industrial Building Trades and be proficient in a broad range of construction tasks, including blueprint reading, material selection, site preparation, framing (floors, walls, roofs), concrete formwork, trim and finish work, cabinet making, door and window installation, basic plumbing and electrical applications, painting, concrete work, brick and block laying, wall covering, code compliance (building, plumbing, electrical), and cost estimation.
Proficiency in construction-related mathematics, the use of hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments is required. Basic management skills and computer literacy are also essential.

- Associate degree with demonstrated competencies via paid work experience in the teaching discipline; or
- Substantial and directly related work experience in the field, and/or
- Professional licensure or certifications relevant to the teaching assignment.

- Blueprint reading and interpretation
- Selection and use of construction materials
- Site preparation and framing (floors, walls, roofs)
- Concrete formwork, interior and exterior trim installation, finish carpentry, cabinet making, door and window installation
- Basic plumbing and electrical applications, wiring, painting, refinishing, and working with concrete, brick, block, and wall coverings
- Application of building, plumbing, and electrical codes, as well as cost estimation
- Proficiency in construction-related mathematics, safe and proper use of hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Curriculum and program development, evaluation, and technical writing
- Course scheduling, student recruitment, marketing, and career advising
- Transcript and work experience evaluation, student registration, and articulation agreement preparation
- Experience working with advisory committees and evaluating student surveys
- Personnel supervision, budget preparation and management, bid evaluation, purchasing, and office management
- Personnel evaluation, resource management, and adherence to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain programs and enrollment procedures clearly to prospective students
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word), calculator use, and operation of standard office equipment (e.g., photocopiers)

- Capability to perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on departmental equipment
