Job Summary
Prepares screens and machines to print orders quickly and efficiently to ensure completion of orders within time limits.
Performance Dimensions and Tasks Time Spent (%)
1. Quality Control 20%
Read and interpret information on order forms. Ensure correct art, correct placement of art, correct garment type, correct colors of garment, correct print and location of print on items, and check overall quality of items. Check production equipment to ensure proper machine set up, registration, ink viscosity and color. Report quality concern to supervisor and operator’s attention.
2. Printing Preparation 20%
Prepare screen printing screens. Mix and load inks. Clean machines. Troubleshoot technological problems. Maintain screen printing equipment. Unload items from box onto table. Print one item and take to supervisor to approve by checking printed item against the art approval before printing the whole order.
3. Printing 50%
Operate machinery to screen print assorted items, designs, colors, and placements of art on items. Adjust machinery for optimum speed, registry, and print quality.
4. Cleanup 10%
Repair, maintain, and store production tooling and fixtures. Keep work area clean and organized. Break down empty and unused boxes. Sweep floors. Pick up trash and take trash to dumpster. Wipe ink and dirt off tables, machines, and/or floors.
