Education and Experience:
- Must have Master's degree in psychology, counseling or related field
- Must qualify as a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts as the term applies to rehabilitative services for persons with mental illness or Licensed Professional Clinician - Associate
- LPHA is defined as an individual who is: a Licensed Professional Counselor as defined in the Texas Civil Statutes 4512g, or a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) as defined in the Human Resources Code, Chapter 50, or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
- Must have strong critical thinking, communication and listening skills
- Must have valid TX driver's license and be insurable
Job Purpose:
- Provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to adults diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and/or children who may qualify for counseling services.
- Understands that trauma results from events that are experienced by individuals, which have profound effects in that individual's psychological development and well-being
- Responsible for providing initial eligibility determination for Adult and Child Mental Health Services, intake and assessment, on-going assessment
Job Function:
- Provides counseling services to adults and children utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Performs initial eligibility determination for all clients entering services
- Assesses and identifies client needs so that provider staff can begin service provision
- Assists in the development of the Center's delivery of services and discovers ways to improve the quality of client care provided by facility
