Position Function:
Assist with the management of the overall accounting and reporting function of the company and its affiliates, including financial and regulatory reporting and general accounting functions. Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of reports and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), as well as compliance with legal and regulatory reporting requirements. Coordinate tax compliance for all taxing authorities and jurisdictions. Full charge accounting functions for various joint ventures. Responsible for internal and external auditor requests. Manage the budgetary functions of Home Loans Division. Manage and develop the Finance department staff.

Primary Accountabilities:
- Manage the financial reporting process and activities for HLD and other related lines of business. Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial reports as well as compliance with GAAP, legal and regulatory reporting requirements. Also responsible for providing quarterly Call Report information to CPB Controllers and any other accounting/reporting information necessary. 20%.
- Manage the financial reporting process and activities for all affiliates. Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial reports as well as compliance with GAAP, legal and regulatory reporting requirements. Also, ensure timely reporting to the affiliate partners.
- Responsible to work with the Tax Director for CPB to ensure tax compliance for HLD and all affiliates. Ensure timely payment of tax liabilities and timely and accurate filing of tax reports. 10%.
- Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget for HLD, all affiliates and other related lines of business. Ensure prudent management of the organization’s resources via budget reporting to Executive management.
- Oversee the general accounting function for HLD, all affiliates and other related lines of business, including the general ledger, mortgage banking, accounting, accounts payable and reconciliation functions. Ensure compliance with GAAP, assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and assist with research and resolution of accounting issues. 35%.
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate financial reporting and operational controls within HLD, all affiliates and other related lines of business. Maintain documentation of controls for Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance. Also responsible to facilitate/coordinate external, internal and regulatory audits performed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Experience:
- 8 years of experience in accounting work experience required.
- Experience in the financial industry, demonstrating increasing level of responsibility and managerial experience preferred.
- 5 years of management experience required.
- Experience overseeing General Ledger required.
License/Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
- Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
- Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
- Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
