Job: Shop Manager
Location: Springfield, OR | Leavitt's Freight Service
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm
Pay: $65,000-85,000, depending on experience

Job Summary
The Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Leavitt's shop. This position will manage the maintenance staff and work closely with Operations to ensure that repairs and preventative maintenance is completed timely to reduce driver's downtime.
What will a typical day look like?
- Audit Work Orders daily to ensure proper labor, parts and coding are being used
- Coordinate inbound and outbound trucks through the shop
- Handling driver's concerns and issues and confirm they have been addressed
- Participate in or conduct any necessary meetings within and outside of maintenance department
- Program GeoTab and SmartDrive when installed in new trucks or when repairs are made
- Approve all extra repairs needed to equipment
- Coordinate needed repairs with drivers and third-party vendors on equipment that breakdown over the road in other towns.
- Maintain shop equipment and trucks and order necessary tools and equipment when needed
- Ensure all safety protocols are being followed and MSDS books are up to date
- Oversee that Inventory/Parts are stocking the correct parts and needed levels to support the equipment needs. Work as a backup for part ordering.
- Coordinate yard organization and cleanliness.
- Maintain proper records and testing for yard storm water testing for DEQ
- Manage and oversee shop staff and duties including, hiring, performance management, and approving timecard and PTO requests.
- Other duties as assigned
What makes you a good fit for the role?
- 2 years of experience managing a shop team
- 3 years of experience in a class A shop
- Experience in transmission and drivetrain diagnostics and repair, including clutch and wheel end maintenance
- A/C experience and certification
- Forklift certification
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
- CDL would be beneficial but not a requirement
- Experience with welding and fabrication preferred
