Position Requirements - What You Need to Know Before Applying
- Full-Time Commitment: This is a full-time position (Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week).
- Shift Availability: Shifts may begin as early as 7:30 AM and may end as late as 5:30 PM. You must be available to work shifts within this range.
- Valid Driver's License & Reliable Transportation: You must have a valid driver's license & reliable transportation to travel locally to our satellite offices around I-270. Mileage reimbursement is available for eligible midday travel.
As a Certified Medical Assistant at COUG, you’ll play a critical role in keeping the clinic running smoothly while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Your role will include:
- Rooming patients and verifying patient identifiers (DOB)
- Obtaining and documenting patient vitals (BP, height, weight, pulse, temperature)
- Collecting specimens and performing UA and PVRs
- Educating patients on proper urine sample collection
- Documenting in the patient chart accurately and timely
- Collecting and reviewing patient health history
- Medication reconciliation
- Sending labs (including cytology, rectal swabs, cultures)
- Placing requisitions and orders per provider direction
- Assisting with administrative and clinic support tasks as needed

- Current Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program (required)
- A minimum of 3 consecutive years as a Certified Medical Assistant within the last 5 years in an ambulatory clinic or hospital setting (required)
- A valid driver's license & reliable transportation
- An innate ability to think critically, act decisively, and maintain calm focus in a fast-paced clinical environment
