What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Success Coach (term) position at Central Ohio Technical College?
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and two (2) years professional experience in counseling, advising, or a related field. A master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for years of experience,
- Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail,
- Requires a valid state driver’s license,
- Requires a successful completion of a background check, and
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public, and
- Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Previous experience
- teaching,
- using an enterprise-wide integrated student information systems such as Colleague,
- using an early alert system, such as CRM Advise.
The student success coach is responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience for students to increase student retention, success, and completion. The incumbent provides mentoring and coaching for students to develop and accomplish their personal, academic, and professional goals. Under the supervision of the director of student success, the student success coach will conduct outreach to at-risk students, develop and implement success workshops and learning communities, be a liaison to college and community resources for all students, and assist as needed with the Student Success Center operations including the administration of exams.

Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
Some evenings and weekends required.
