Position Overview
The Accounting Manager owns the day-to-day accounting operations of the chapter and serves as a trusted resource across the electrical industry it supports. This role blends hands-on accounting — accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and bank transactions, as well as higher-level responsibilities in budgeting, compliance, and data analysis. Its not just numbers, this accounting manager is also the most frequent point of contact to our members when they have questions or issues to be investigated.

Primary Responsibilities
Electronic Payroll Reporting (EPR)
- Administer the EPRLive software and administer benefits reporting for all members of our chapter
- Monitor reporting activity within EPR for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
- Generate reports for multiple fund administrators
- Assist contractors with labor reporting and resolve reporting questions or discrepancies
- Create Wage Sheets memorializing contractual obligations for benefits administration
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain general ledger entries using Quickbooks Online
- Perform account reconciliations
- Manage payroll processing
Budgeting & Reporting
- Assist with budget preparation
- Monitor budget versus actual spending and flag variances
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure regulatory and tax compliance
- Support internal and external audits
- Maintain internal controls and financial policies
Operations & Administration
- Manage expense reimbursement
- Maintain accounting records and documentation
- Administer accounting software and systems
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors
Analysis & Strategy Support
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Liaise with departments on financial matters
Management & Analysis
- Data analysis – use reported data to answer questions related to labor trends across the industry
- Create reports for internal use and for presentation to boards and leadership
- Continually search for process improvements across financial operations
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage new technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting or bookkeeping, including AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and payroll.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and of regulatory and tax compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills; comfort adopting new systems and technologies.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, decision-ready reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present financial information to boards and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Experience with fringe benefit fund reporting or electronic payroll reporting systems is a plus.
- CPA or relevant accounting/finance certification preferred.
