Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field preferred but not required

Job Goal
To ensure accurate financial recordkeeping and bookkeeping procedures for the school’s revenues, appropriations, fund balances, and accounts. Responsible for preparing annual financial reports and budget documentation. Provide guidance and support to school secretaries, collaborate closely with Payroll and Accounts Payable, and assist staff, directors, and administrators in maintaining efficient financial operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, ACH, Wire Transfer, General Ledger and other traditional accounting functions.
- Submit Cycle Reports in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements
- Prepare weekly budget principal report
- Balance and distribute annual W-2's and 1099's.
- Assist with clerical work in the Central Office.
- Assist in preparation of budgets and annual financial reports.
- Submit monthly food service reimbursement claims and perform verification for Child Nutrition meal applications.
- Record approved school board minutes in permanent record book.
- Maintain files for School Board.
- Maintain and publish any required district publications.
- Organize and publish any items concerning School Board elections.
- Responsible for retaining all required financial records according to Elkins record retention policy.
- Provide all reports required for audit.
- Process State Sales & Use Tax monthly claims.
- Set up new vendors and maintain the information.
- Oversee credit card transactions and statements
Report to and perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
