Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractor customers and professional accounts
- Assist contractors with product selection for construction jobs and projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Recommend complementary and higher-value products to maximize project success and sales opportunities
- Provide expert advice on hardware, tools, building materials, and construction-related products
- Generate quotes, place orders, and follow up to ensure timely fulfillment and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate with store departments to ensure product availability and smooth order processing
- Deliver outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone
- Stay current on product knowledge, industry trends, and new materials or tools
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales area
- Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals
- Previous experience in contractor sales, hardware retail, construction, or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of tools, hardware, lumber, building materials, and construction processes
- Proven ability to upsell and provide solution-based recommendations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong customer service mindset with a professional and approachable demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple customers and projects simultaneously
- Basic computer skills and experience with POS or order management systems
- Ability to lift and move products as needed (up to [weight requirement])
