What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager Construction position at Central Mechanical Systems?
We are a General Contractor working on various projects throughout the five boroughs. We are seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager to support our project team in coordinating day-to-day construction operations, subcontractor management, documentation, and project closeout.
The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers and field staff to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all contract requirements. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and looking to grow within the construction industry.
- Prior public works experience in construction project coordination or project management preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with Procore, Sage, or similar construction software is a plus
- Knowledge of construction documentation and processes preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
