TITLE: Principal Analyst - Strategic Planning GREAT BENEFITS SIGN ON BONUS RELOCATION SALARY RANGE: The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $106,000 to $132,500 LOCATION: Augusta, ME OR Portland, ME Work type: Office Job Summary This position is responsible for all business and regulatory analysis, reporting, and administrative functions as needed to support the objectives of Strategic Planning team. Key Responsibilities Working closely with Senior Manager of Strategic Planning and other internal/external stakeholders to define, implement and refine a Strategic Planning roadmap. Lead the analysis of evolving regulatory frameworks and policies at Federal and State agencies. Actively align strategic integrated grid planning efforts with regulatory policy. Accountable for specific deliverables of the Integrated Grid Plan process including internal / external reporting. Drive proposal development, funding applications and reporting for pilot projects and innovation demonstrations, particularly in Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs) and other strategic innovations. Deliver clear, data-driven reports and presentations to senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and external partners, translating complex analyses into actionable insights. With initiative and self-motivation, proactively undertake additional tasks as required by the business, adapting to evolving priorities and contributing to strategic outcomes beyond defined responsibilities. Team Leadership & Performance Management Manage and motivate analysts/engineers within the strategic planning team to safeguard business delivery, foster professional growth for self and others, and ensure high-quality analytical outputs aligned with organizational goals. Required Qualifications Education & Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related analytic discipline including, but not limited to, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business with a minimum of 7 – 10 years relevant experience in managing complex, technical programs or projects. Electric Network Transmission and Distribution utility industry knowledge is required. Knowledge in the areas of energy markets structures, state and federal energy law as and local regulations. Skills/Abilities: Results oriented with strong critical thinking skills- creative thinking, decision making and problem solving Must have excellent analytical skills, top tier Microsoft tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, and WORD) Broad experience leveraging analytical expertise in a wide variety of business situations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to schedule, plan and manage numerous competing priorities concurrently Ability to run meetings and interact with others at all levels of the organization Professional Conduct & Leadership.
