We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Norton, MA. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys ownership, visibility, and continuous improvement in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is exempt and has a salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 per year, based on experience.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting. You will own core general ledger activities, support monthly close and external reporting, and actively contribute to strengthening internal controls and financial processes. This role offers meaningful exposure to SOX compliance, audits, corporate reporting, and manufacturing accounting, with opportunities to broaden your skill set and grow within a publicly traded organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform monthly closing activities, including analysis of accounts and preparation of complex journal entries
- Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Perform analytical reviews to identify trends, variances, and potential issues
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare audit documentation
- Support quarterly and annual reporting, including schedules for Forms 10-Q and 10-K
- Support standard costing procedures and related variance analysis
- Evaluate existing financial processes and make recommendations for improvements
- Ensure timely and accurate sales tax filings and registrations
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as requested by leadership
Ideal Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4 years’ experience in general ledger accounting required
- Manufacturing industry or public experience a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Sage or comparable ERP system a plus
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow with a curious mindset
