Central Life Sciences is searching for a ProcessEngineer II in our Dallas, TX location. This position will develop, coordinate, and implement engineering projects designed to launch new consumer chemical products, continuously improve plant-operating performance, reduce inefficiencies and delays in the manufacturing process, improve quality, and protect our workers and the environment. MEASURES OF SUCCESS- Participates in the development of new or improved products by recommending proper use of machines, tools, and equipment. Appraises technological developments, investigating the feasibility of new equipment and techniques. Prepares dependable cost estimates for change in manufacturing method.
- Provides technical support for production startups and existing production lines and recommends efficiency improvements using internal and external resources.
- Promoting a safe workplace with production floor visits to ensure employees and contractors adhering to site standards, assisting with job safety analysis evaluations, modifying equipment safeties, interlocks and guarding to make safer, and helping to develop LOTO plans.
- Responsible for the design and development of machinery and equipment for production.
- Recommends and justifies capital expenditures. Prepares required Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs).
- Periodically examines processes for updating techniques, quality, and overall efficiency.
- Participates in the development of long-range plans for major layout changes, incorporation of new processes and selection of equipment.
- Ensures compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations issued by Central Life Sciences, OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
- Works closely with production, marketing, development, quality assurance and purchasing personnel to evaluate, plan and implement changes.
- Develops and communicates cost, quality, and risk data regarding proposals.
- Works directly with external organizations (equipment design and manufacturing companies, contractors, consultants, etc.) to assure timely cost-effective project completion.
- Prepares periodic reports on project status, recommendations, problems, and cost analysis, etc.
- Assists in maintenance and adherence of Departmental ISO Standard Operating Procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment serving in an Engineering capacity
- Experience with validation for equipment and processes
- Collaborative problem solver capable of working with cross functional teams
- Experience managing projects or programs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
- Strong working knowledge of robotics and control systems
- Experienced Lean Manufacturing and successfully driving Continuous Improvement
- Experience in one or more of the following is required: Injection Molding, Thermoforming, Dry Blending, Liquid Blending, Extrusion, Granulation
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Office, production, laboratory, and machine shop environments.
