Position Type: Part-Time. We are open to hiring either as an Hourly Employee (W-2) or as an Independent Contractor (1099), depending on the candidate's preference and alignment with clinic operations.
Core ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Treatment
- Customized Massage Therapy: Deliver high-quality massage treatments (such as Deep Tissue, Swedish, Myofascial Release, or Trigger Point therapy) tailored to each patient's specific health concerns and medical history.
- Collaborative Care: Consult with the clinic's acupuncturists to align massage treatments with the patient's ongoing acupuncture care plan for maximum therapeutic benefit.
- Intake & Assessment: Conduct brief pre-session assessments to review patient health history, identify contraindications, and determine session goals.
Documentation & Compliance
- SOAP Notes: Document accurate, detailed, and timely SOAP notes for every session within the clinic’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Professional Standards: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines regarding patient privacy, as well as state and local licensing regulations.
Room & Space Management
- Sanitation & Prep: Turn over, clean, and sanitize the treatment room between sessions, ensuring fresh linens and a tranquil atmosphere (lighting, music, temperature).
- Inventory: Help monitor massage supply levels (lotions, oils, linens) and report restocking needs to the administrative team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted State Massage Therapy License (LMT).
- Insurance: Current professional liability insurance (required for both employee and contractor tracks).
- Experience: 1 years of experience working in a clinical setting, multi-disciplinary wellness center, chiropractic office, or spa environment preferred.
- Modality Proficiency: Strong foundation in therapeutic modalities geared toward pain management and rehabilitation.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to discuss treatment benefits and post-care recommendations clearly with patients.
Compensation & Classification Options
Applicants may apply for one of the following structures:
Option A: Hourly Employee (Part-Time W-2)
- Set, part-time shifts determined by clinic hours.
- Paid hourly rate for both hands-on time and administrative/turnover time.
- Clinic provides all hydraulic tables, linens, lotions, and marketing/booking services.
Option B: Independent Contractor (1099)
- Flexible scheduling based on room availability and patient demand.
- Split-percentage commission or flat per-session rate.
- Contractor manages their own tax withholding and may provide specialized tools/lotions if preferred, while utilizing clinic booking infrastructure.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Environment: A quiet, serene, and professional clinical environment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform consecutive hands-on massage sessions (typically 50 to 90 minutes each) and remain standing for extended periods.
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
